Ten minutes from the Mariinsky Entrée is perfect for a pre/post theatre dinner or a snack in the deli café area during a walk around the canals. The French food on offer is first rate simple fare, prepared with a lot of love and in very filling portions and you will notice a number of people who have come here exclusively to eat the cream cakes, which it is said are the best in town. Becoming more romantic in the evenings (the view cannot be beaten) the atmosphere is still relaxed enough to suit more platonic diners and children are even accommodated in the adjoining room.
