Wonderful coffee and wonderful service are to be found in the large hall filled with wooden tables worn in by hundreds of brews. It makes you think that the coffee revolution has been going for decades in Russia. Here you’ll find newspapers galore and biscuits of all varieties including chocolate chips. Counter service is order of the day, as is the great mix of relaxed city, student and professor types.

Coffee Bean is permanently located across the street from where it used to be. Coffee Mania set up in the old location which is a shame. As for the terrace there was never much of a view and Pokrovka is choked with low-octane exhaust from all the cars inching their way up to Sadovoye Kol'tso so maybe the new location isn't such a loss after all. Besides they still offer the same delicious cake and lunch menu in the new location. (Love the brownies!)

Coffee Bean at Pokrovka is closed for remont. They did however open a temporary cafe at the other side of the road but there is no terrace!
