The huge basement of Casa Agave is in fact a restaurant and a tequila bar (which explains the loud mariachi bands and dancing at weekends) and it is more than lively enough to tempt you to stay on for some cocktails after dinner. Decorated in bright Mexican colours and filled with technicolour textiles and other nick-nacks, Casa Agave has a real party atmosphere and the food is something to look forward to. Classic tex-mex fare such as burritos and fajitas feature and the spice levels are much higher than usual (although not astronomical). The real treats are the traditional Mexican dishes such as chicken with mole (chili and chocolate sauce), queso fundido and the Mayan pork dish cochinita pibil.
