Bucharest's biggest market. Obor’s main market hall – a once elegant, modernist building known as Halele Obor which has seen better days – was built in the 1940s but is these days a far cry from the bustling place it was in its heyday. It is now the ground floor of the new building opposite where you should go for your fruit and vegetables, while upstairs you will find fresh meat, spices, wine and fish. Between the two buildings you will find a vast array of costermongers selling all sorts of goods from pots and pans to flowers and plants, cheap clothes and shoes to miracle cures for gout. Don't forget to eat a couple of mici: Obor serves up some of the best in the city.
