Armenian Church hero image

Now overlooked by a hideous skyscraper, this is nevertheless one of the largest and best preserved Orthodox churches in central Bucharest. The church (built between 1911-15) is an exact replica of a cathedral in the Armenian city of Ecmiazin, and serves the city's once large but now miniscule Armenian population. Next to the church is an interesting library with a large number of documents relating to the Armenian population (phone ahead for access).
