Modlin airport looks like a shiny overturned tin can nestled in a forest in the middle of nowhere, though the architects may beg to differ. This is one of the biggest cheap airline hubs in Poland and Ryanair currently operates connections all across Europe (this is where you'll fly from if you're bopping over to Spain or Italy or Croatia or.... pretty much anywhere in the continent). Since the first flight in 2012, almost 3 million passengers have opted to use Warsaw Modlin Airport every year.

The interior is clean, modern and well-equipped to handle international travellers with plenty of prominent signage (though not a lot of options for sitting). Inside the arrival and departure halls you'll find all the services you could want, including numerous ATMs (bankomat), an information desk, free wifi, three currency exchange points (kantor), hot and cold vending machines, shops of all shapes and sizes (including duty free), one playground, a few restaurants (including a grill and a bar) and numerous car rental companies.

Those looking to end up in Warsaw's city centre have three main options for transport:

1) Grab a cab or private shuttle (WawaBus is a great option that will take you in a sleek, private car anywhere you need to go). Ubers are also a popular option (though not cheap) as are taxis.

2) Take a bus to the capital (Flixbus or Contbus both take you there, though at a price) or board one of the green and yellow shuttles that will take you to Modlin Train Station where you then take a train to your destination. The Koleje Mazowieckie train route is economical (21-25zł total for shuttle and train), though slightly time consuming (around an hour, and sometimes longer, depending on the time of day); buy a ticket from one of their stands located in the baggage hall or at Arrivals near the exit doors.

3) There are many bus transfer services. If money isn't an option, the airport's official taxi partner Taxi Modlin offer transport to the city centre from 159zł (199zł between 00:00 and 06:00).

I traveled with Ryanair to Modlin Warsaw,on return journey, missed the bus by a fraction of a second, had to go on the street and hail a taxi, which cost me 220 plz, I didn't find Polish people any way friendly or helpful in fact Arrogant would be the word I would use, if you don't speak Polish they don't want to know you. At Modlin airport when walking on the run way to board the plane this Polish came over and aggressively pulled my hand baggage off me and said I would have to put it in the hold, her manner was so aggressive, I have never in all my years traveling experienced such behaviour.I will not be going back to Modlin Warsaw with Ryanair again.

I love Beebeep Taxi. Used it twice. Paid just 89 pln (21 EUR) from Modlin to Warsaw - it's constant price. Really cheap and comfortable! Ordered even by email last time.

Can anyone advise what is the most efficient and economic way to connect from Modlin Airport to Chopin Airport. Also is there any reduction in public transport services on Sundays?

Airport far away from Warsaw. To get to the city center I`ve been always travelling with Sawa Taxi cabs. They offer service in Modlin and in Warsaw as well. Good quality and reasonable prices.

The landside shop [before passport control] at Warsaw Modlin airport stocks Lambert & Butler cigarettes. They are 143PLN for a carton of 200.

Arrived here a week ago in the evening and we were all subjected to constant attacks by mosquitos from the plane and even in the terminal as some pocket genius decided that air conditioning wasn't. required despite the outside temperature being at 30c. A young English child was hysterical with the pain of the bites they were receiving. We happened to mention the vast numbers of mosquitos around the airport and were told that Modlin was "too poor" an area to address this. Poland is a beautiful country with wonderfully hospitable and friendly people but Modlin despite its shiney facade is an absolute disgrace. This is not the Third World and its time that the authorities responsible for this dump woke up to it. If you can afford to avoid it my recommendation is avoid it. If you cant then avoid evening flights at least in the summer or make sure you are well protected from mosquitos.

Pretty good. In comparison with Europe is quite close to the center, as the second airport of the city. Clean, fast service.

I use Modlin airport very often since Ryanair opened domestic flights. I have to admit it is a lot better than I expected - I mean it seemed to me quite far away, but once you go there it occurs that getting there is smooth and fast. The airport itself is small, but comfortable. It has all services you might need - transport, dining points, ATMs and so forth. It makes my travel really enjoyable - as compared to trains and buses that I used before for this route.
