With its vertical ‘HOTEL’ sign and roadside location, Astra looks like it could easily be a motel in Nowhereville, USA on first impression, but without the worry of waking up to find yourself in the middle of a crime drama. Clean, sufficiently modern, and slightly overpriced, nothing here really goes beyond standard, but sometimes you just need a place to sleep, and the less memorable it is, the better. Being six kilometres from the centre is a bit of a drag, but one of the perks is the impressive garden, where guests are invited to light bonfires. Pack some marshmallows.
