Hidden within Greater Poland National Park, Trzcielińskie Swamp is less about dramatic scenery and more about slowing down, staying quiet and letting nature reveal itself at its own pace. This strictly protected wetland reserve surrounds the overgrown waters of Lake Trzcielińskie and provides an important nesting ground for more than 60 bird species, including cranes, marsh harriers and grey herons. A modest observation tower allows visitors to scan the marshes from a respectful distance, though binoculars are very much recommended unless you possess the eyesight of an eagle yourself. Peaceful, secluded and wonderfully rich in birdlife, it’s a rewarding stop for walkers, cyclists and anyone who appreciates quieter corners of the natural world.
