Irish craft whiskey and gin is produced at this purpose-built distillery set within the owner's Killaney Estate and opened in 2020. Ten miles south of Belfast and surrounded by acres of rolling green fields, its name 'Hinch' comes from the nearby village of Ballynahinch, site of an 18th century battle between the British forces and United Irishmen.

Mourne Mountain water is used in the process which includes Irish whiskey's famous triple distillation to ensure a particularly smooth taste. Bourbon and sherry casks add to Hinch Whiskey's distinct flavours, with 5 and 10 year aged casks and peated malts among the in-house delights. Their Ninth Wave Gin derives its name from Irish mythology's close connection with the sea, with its ocean blue bottle and spiral design completing the Celtic theme.

A ground floor Visitor Centre and Shop leads to an elegant Brasserie serving morning coffees, lunch and dinner, and onwards to a courtyard perfect for al fresco dining and events. Wine from the owner's Chateau De La Ligne in Bordeaux is also available to buy in bottles or enjoy at the brasserie and gentleman's club-style tasting room with bar, wood panelling and leather sofas. Tastings and Tours tell the story of the distillery and its tipples, and private functions can also be booked.
