Built in 1966 on the site of a linen mill, this whitewashed hotel and country club has managed to retain a sense of tradition and olde world charm. Exposed beams, open fires and Irish art adorn the gorgeously homely ground floor lounge and the Club provides the most jaded traveller with a range of relaxing leisure facilities. Outside, the extensive grounds boast a magnificent beech tree and small river in which anglers can dip their hooks before heading back for a wee dram in the old-style Copper Bar. A grand hotel that belies its relatively young years.
