Jeff Meredith began his Belfast Times blog in 2011. Since then he has gone on to create fabulous products featuring local landmarks made from well-known Norn Iron words and phrases. Belfast In Your Pocket caught up with Jeff for a quick chat at his busy St. George's Market stall.

What inspired you to start your business?
BelfastTimes.co.uk began after years of blogging in various websites from the days before the word even existed! I was going to so many concerts and theatre productions that I wanted a forum to share my thoughts. My stall at St George's Market began about six months later as new creativity began to emerge and, again, I wanted to share it. You could say it was all a mid-life crisis thing where I want to create something of my own rather than always work for someone else.

Who are your customers?
My customers at St George's Market are tourists buying souvenirs or locals buying products for their home or to send to relations overseas. People wanting a memory of Northern Ireland to take home and smile at every day.

What is the most popular design?
The yellow crane wins the award for the most popular design, or my 'What's the craic' coaster is equally popular.

Are you working on any new designs or commissions?
I recently completed a commission for a lady in Nebraska of the amazing Johnson County Hall built in the 1800s. I always have new designs popping up. The most recent is the Peace Bridge in Derry.

What is your favourite place in Belfast and why?
How can I possibly narrow it down to one place when the city has so many great places! The City Hall is probably top of my list and every time I pass it, day or night, I stop to take a photo.

Sell the city in a sentence...
I'll sell it from what my tourist customers tell me. It's a city wth a fantastic buzz about it, the atmosphere is young and vibrant and the people are so welcoming and it's great craic.
