Perched overlooking the town and the Bregalnica that flows beneath it, the origins of this archaeological site are believed to date back to the period of King Marko of Serbia, who reigned for almost a quarter of a century between 1371 and 1395. Featuring a few surviving high walls and little else, on March 22 every year, on the holiday of the Holy 40 Martyrs, the tradition is to walk up the hill to the ruins and to greet the first 39 people you meet and to kiss the 40th.
