Of all the budget options in this area, and there are quite a few, this one seems to be the best. The staff are friendly, the reception area decorated with a huge collection of miniature Amsterdam houses is cosy and the rooms, although tiny, somehow manage to cram in a bed, TV, refrigerator, phone and even private bathrooms. Some of the street side rooms have a bit of traffic noise, while others on the canal side are more peaceful. In fact, some even offer balconies with excellent views of the canal. In short, it’s like staying in a cosy cabin on a ship or in the guest room at Frodo Baggins’ house.
