If you're young (but at least 16) and a bit bored on dull Ameland, have a go at the Swinging Mill, or as they say 'The Mill'. In a dark field next to the windmill (hence the name) just outside Nes, is 'where it happens'. To get there, take your bike, or hire a taxi. There's almost no parking space for cars and anyway, it's safer after a few drinks. The drinks are all one or two tokens (one token € 2,- ), which you buy at the wardrobe where you have to leave your coat in the unlikely event of wearing one. Even though the Mill opens at 11 o'clock PM every night, on most evenings it's quiet until 12. But be sure you're in before 01:30, when the doors close. Inside the party goes on till 4 (and outside even longer, we guess...)!
