Established in 1983, the Science and Industry Museum is one big love letter to innovation, a museum devoted to all things development in a city that has long pioneered the stuff in the UK. Transport, power and the facilities of everyday life get plenty of attention inside, along with a number of wildly engaging themed galleries. You can even discover the incredible story of the Sun (not the right wing rag), the most amazing thing in all of time and space. An incredible museum, to be blunt.
