Medieval Mdina is captivating with its quiet, narrow streets and imposing bastions that look out over most of Malta. Valletta and Mdina, along with the famed three cities of Birgu (aka Vittoriosa), Isla (Senglea), and Bormla (Cospicua) serve as giant architectural museums. The entire island is a history museum that displays artefacts dating back to prehistoric times with its ancient temples and burial sites.
