Found within Lublin Castle complex, the Holy Trinity Chapel is an astonishing place of worship from the mid 14th century. While the main castle has changed form several times over the centuries, the chapel has maintained its gothic style without change, along with the Romanesque donżon tower from the 1200s. At a time when Lithuania had begun its long-standing relations with Poland, the Lithuanian-born Polish King, Władysław II Jagiełło, commissioned Ruthenian painters under the direction of a certain Master Andrzej of Łuck (now Lutsk, Ukraine) to create the amazing fresco works in the 1410s. What makes this interior so special, aside from the stunning workmanship of art, is the fact that a Roman Catholic chapel is adorned with a Rutheno-Byzantine artistic style, typical of an Eastern Orthodox tradition! More than a century and a half before the Union of Lublin was signed between Poland and Lithuania in the same building, this unique place of worship was already a symbol of multicultural unity that the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth would become. Notable representations that can be seen here include the story of the crucifixion, key saints and an image of christ and Mary being approach by the likeliness of Władysław II Jagiełło himself!

Entry to the Chapel of the Holy Trinity can be found on the first floor (ie. +1 above ground level) of the Castle Museum and requires an separate ticket to the museum's permanent exhibition. It is possible to buy a ticket that covers the chapel, museum and Donżon tower, all of which are found within the castle complex.
