Nobody does castles like the Welsh. These monolithic remnants of history and culture stand proud from Anglesey to Cardiff, with many of the finest examples being found in the north of the country. They are remarkably well maintained as well, although that doesn’t necessarily mean the castles are as they once were, more that it isn’t difficult to imagine life within the walls. We all have our favourites, but all of these castles demand attention and eventual inevitably adoration.
