This bright, colourful eatery just off the main road in Bourj Hammoud claims to be the first of its kind in Beirut, but if there's another Nigerian-Filipino restaurant and karaoke bar anywhere in the world we'd be very surprised to hear it. The ladies who run the place are rightfully proud to share their national cuisine with the general public, and will gladly answer any questions you have about the more exotic dishes, such as goat's head, peppered snails or scotch eggs (Nigeria was a British colony after all), but we usually keep it simple with an order of Jollof rice with grilled chicken and a side of plantains, which are all literally finger-licking good. The mango liqueur makes an excellent digestif (or aperitif for that matter), and a few of them might even give you the courage to head upstairs and belt out your favourite Madonna song.
