We've been friends with the eponymous Dany for almost a decade and a half (and yes, he's not only a real person, but looks exactly like the caricature on the logo and for the record hasn't seemed to age a single day since we've known him, which really doesn't seem fair), so you probably shouldn't trust anything we have to say about this place, however, you don't have to since enough positive words have been written about it from plenty of other more objective sources. In any event, the facts of the matter are that it was the first pub to open in Hamra's now famous 'Alleyway' back in the summer of 2008, which helped breathe some life back into the district's then-fledgling nightlife scene, and they've also got one of Beirut's most generous happy hours, which kicks off at 11am, tempting workers from nearby offices to step out early and enjoy a crafty tipple or two on their lunch break (or perhaps that's just us).
