If you think that beets are only good in borscht, think again. This chic cocktail bar specialises in mixed drinks made from Nordic and Latvian ingredients like quince, sea buckthorn and, yes, beetroot juice, but don’t worry as imported citrus fruits are also combined with top shelf spirits here. The friendly, professional staff also use local berry wines and homemade kombucha teas and syrups in the cocktails, which are quite reasonable by Riga standards at around €7.50 each. The small space located in a half basement is cosy, but still manages to exude a sleek Nordic minimalism. A variety of gimlets are on offer, but the bartenders can make nearly any drink imaginable.
