From May to September, travel the city by 'water tram' - small commuter ferries that stop at strategically-placed stations along both sides of the river between Salwator (ul. Flisacka) and Kazimierz (below Galeria Kazimierz). There's no zigzagging (they go up one side and then down the other), and the time between stops at the same station is just over one hour, so while it's not quite as convenient as a normal tram (or even a normal river cruise), it still offers tourists a different and appealing vantage point on the city; and the prices (10/15zł) are much closer to those of public transport than a private cruise. There's also a route out to Tyniec monastery once a day (42/37zł, with return 80/70zł), and you can take a bike on board for free, which makes it a good option for those who want to check out the monastery, but are nervous about riding out to it in both directions (it's an easy ride, actually). You can find their exact schedule online and also at each stop on the river.
