Stanisław Lem Experimental Garden

  Al. Pokoju 68 (Czyżyny) ,   Czyżyny          (+48) 12 346 12 85     18 Apr 2024

*Open from April 22, 2024.

A fun, interactive, education park for kids named after local sci-fi author Stanisław Lem. This 6.5 hectare 'science garden' features over 110 different stations engaging kids in a wide variety of topics related to the laws of physics, including optical illusions, acoustics, gravity, magnetism, mechanics and more. Each year the park seems to have more exciting hands-on exhibits - including multiple slides, swings, a tobaggan run, gyroscope and even a bicycle on a tightrope. Basically a giant educational playground, there's also an aromatic herb garden, greenhouse, labyrinth and small planetarium showing 5 different films.  A nice change of pace from modern multimedia museums, preschool up to middle school-aged kids - as well as their parents - should all have a great time here. The explanations at each station are in English and Polish if you can get your kids to slow down enough to pay attention to them. Be prepared that some of the most exciting attractions cost extra, and there is also an ice cream stand and food cart selling crepes. Reserve 90 minutes to visit the park in its entirety and get there via trams 1, 14 or 22, getting off at the 'M1 Al. Pokoju' stop; alternatively, a cab from the centre is about 25zł.
