Built on the original site of the municipal slaughterhouse, this modern shopping and entertainment complex was opened in 2005 and has been refreshed several times since to great effect, maintaining its status as - in our view - the city's best and most likeable shaopping mall. Easy to navigate and hardly overwhelming (like some shopping malls), Galeria Kazimierz boasts over 160 retail units including top local and global brands, plus a ten-screen cineplex, food court and fitness centre (replete with indoor swimming pool). Six original buildings from its days as the Kraków Meat Plant remain, and these have been cleverly incorporated into the design of the space in front of the shopping mall, which includes a large outdoor square, children's playground, food trucks and proper restaurants with outdoor patios. Each summer the Kazimierz Summer Festival takes place here - a series of outdoor concerts, events, and theatre shows on weekends. Situated next to the Kazimierz district along the river, the mall is most easily accessed on foot; those arriving by car have 1,500 parking spaces to pick from (free on weekends, first hour free Mon-Fri, three hours free for cinema patrons).

we found this shopping mall by accident on a recent visit to Krakow. It was very bright and airy and had that much missed shop C@A!! It was within walking distance of the local sights and just beside the river.Worth a visit.
