Mastercard OFF Camera Film Festival is your yearly chance to catch up on independent movies, underground cult masterpieces, and up-and-coming filmmakers. The festival usually revolves around Kino Pod Baranami, with a fair number of screenings taking place at Kino Kijów and various small cinemas around the city. Best of all, Mastercard OFF Camera is accessible to everyone thanks to free outdoor screenings in public places; in 2022 these free outdoor screenings will take place on Plac Szczepański, Rynek Podgórski, the square in front of Galeria Krakowska and in front of the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre (NCK). Most indoor screenings of foreign films include both PL and EN subtitles; entries to the Polish film competition will have both English and Ukrainian subtitles; outdoor screenings generally have PL susbtitles only. Find the full programme online when it is released.

2023 is the 16th anniversary of the festival, and this year's programme will showcase its diversity. New thematic sections for the 2023 edition include 'Adventures Ahoy!' - exploring how young directors are adapting conventions of the Adventure films of the 1970s and 80s in today's independent cinema, 'Herstories' - films with women at the centre as protagonists and/or filmmakers, 'Family Circle' - exploring our changing definitions of family that include non-blood ties and biological relationships films, and 'Techno Party' - films that force the audience to contemplate the pros and cons of technological advancement. There will also be a special event dedicated to Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, the famous Polish composer who has worked extensively in Hollywood.
