Before you go, it’s practically mandatory to visit the Delikatesy where the Benedictines really show off their entrepreneurial skills. Although not all the products inside are made ‘on site’ as was the rumour, we’ve been assured that they are all from Benedictine monk recipes and largely hand-made and home-brewed. If it can be home-made (and even if it can’t), and it’s biodegradable, you’ll likely find it here. While you’re browsing through the myriad of spices, herbs, coffees, teas, jams, honey-wines, spreads, syrups, dressings and dried fruit keep an eye out for whatever you enjoyed in the coffee house or restaurant and grab it to go. The dried apples are quite tasty, and a handy snack for visitors on the go.
