While it may no longer be (and most likely never was) the real-life incarnation of the mythical Shangri-La it's still often portrayed as, there are few destinations in the world whose name alone conjures up such exotic wonder and mystery in avid travellers - and deservedly so in our humble opinion, which is why we've decided to bring the capital of Nepal, the one and only Kathmandu, into the In Your Pocket family.

Our local team of erstwhile editors, researchers and local volunteers is currently putting together what we hope will be the most accurate, up-to-date, informative and entertaining guide to this chaotic, magical metropolis and its surrounds.
