Bicycles are taking over the world and we couldn’t be happier about that. Kassel is one of more than 50 German cities that take part in the excellent NextBike scheme, a public bicycle initiative that really couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is register online or via the Nextbike app, choose a bike, rent it, and then return it at the end of the day. Modern technology is a glorious thing. The basic rate is just €1 for 30 minutes, but you can also rent a bike for the week for the princely sum of €10. There really is no excuse. Registration is entirely free of charge as well.
