Constitution Hill Human Rights Festival 2024
Thursday Mar 21 - Sunday Mar 24
Cnr Joubert St and Kotze St, Braamfontein
The festival was created to honour heroes who stood up for their rights during the Sharpeville 1960 massacre. It aims to increase awareness and knowledge about human rights and promote the importance of an active citizenry. Strengthening social cohesion, tolerance of differences, and healing divisions in our communities is another goal of the festival, which is achieved by bringing together NGOs, social justice organisations, think tanks, media partners, and others to discuss human rights issues.
There are three jam-packed days of conversations, exhibitions, art, film, live performances, children’s programmes, and artivism, ending with the iconic We, The People Walk on Sun, Mar 24. This year's festival coincides with the 30th anniversary of South Africa's democracy.
It is a wonderful opportunity for us to recommit to the values of our constitution and uphold them to foster equality, dignity, freedom, and justice for all.
The festival is free for all.
