Sponsored by Nando's, the festival focuses on celebrating contemporary South African youth culture and creativity, and is known for bringing some of the most exciting young performers to the Joburg stage. The Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival is part of the Creative Uprising programme at Constitution Hill (read about Transwerke, a key site of the programme) and, along with Nando's, sponsors and partners include recording hub Flame Studios, creative design agency Clout/SA and South African Tourism.

Wed, Jun 21 – Fri, Jun 23 – Creative Week sees a full programme of events and talks focused on business, art, design, music and technology.Sat, Jun 24 – A special edition of the Curated Makers Market will showcase locally-made fashion and accessories, beauty and health products, accompanied by excellent street food. Also on Saturday is the Sounds of Freedom Music Festival that guarantees an unforgettable line-up of performances designed to provide a platform for up-and-coming artists and new talent. Prepare to be blown away by the likes of singer-songwriter Shekhinah and rapper Kwesta, as well as DJs Ms Party, Boujeena, Brown Sugar, Lyndow Radebe, Mam'Thug and SweeterBrown. No Under 18s.
