This suburban club has the best 19th-hole drinking vantage point with a patio view that will make you feel as if you’re in the greenest place. Just course, trees and sky. One of Joburg's oldest, the course opened in 1916 with a Scotsman Mr LB Waters credited with the original design. Among the club's most illustrious members was Bobby Locke, four time winner of The Open, who is honoured with a bronze statue. The clubhouse has been extensively remodelled and renovated over the decades, most recently in 2006.

Johannesburg In Your Pocket
Hi Jim. You do not need to be a member to play Johannesburg's non-public courses such as Parkview, you must simply pay a non-member green fee. Note that non-members can only play during the week, or at weekends if invited to play with a member. The process for joining a golf club usually involves you being approved by the board of the golf club and recommended by a member - however, it is worth calling the club you are interested in joining and discussing with them directly how to apply for membership and what sort of fees they charge. Members can usually play whenever they like, provided there is an available tee time and no competitions taking place on the course.

I really want to get involved with a golf course membership program. I am way tired of going to the public courses. How much do they usually cost to join? Would I be able to play whenever I want?
