The sign outside may say Kavanagh's but this great little pub is always going to be known as the Gravedigger's, even if it has been owned by the aforementioned family since 1833. Right beside the old cemetery gates in Glasnevin, it is the quintessential Dublin pub, steeped in history and full of character. It's welcoming to locals and tourists alike, and of course it doesn't hurt that the pub serves some of the best Guinness in the county, whish is maybe why the occasional visitor from "the other side of the gates" is sometimes said to drop in for a drink - no "do they serve spirits?" jokes, please...
