This museum in Óbuda is dedicated to Victor Vasarely, Hungary's most famous 20th century artist. Born in Pécs in 1908, Vasarely was one of the leading figures of Op Art, a genre which created optical illusions through its clever use of geometric patterns. The museum showcases the artist's artistic achievements, from his early linear black and white drawings to his later colourful monumental geometric abstractions. Numerous benches allow you to sit down and let your eyes be fooled. Vasarely left Hungary in 1930 and lived in Paris until his death in 1997. Vasarely Museum is close to Árpád híd metro station.
