Opening at first as a French restaurant, (the name is spelt as Cantine on the tarpaulin outside), it soon reopened as a Hungarian eatery. Hu-la-la! Their three course lunch dinner - priced at 2 500 HUF - is one of the best value for money meals in town, certainly on Andrássy, the Champs-Élysées of Budapest. You choose three different tapas style starters, a main and dessert. The exclusively female wait staff manage to be charming and patient even when this small, two storied bistro is filled with people, which it is on a pretty consistent basis. Tables are close together, so it's not a good place to trade sensitive information. Otherwise, recommended, in any language.
