This favorite spot is much more spacious than the Lion Square. Plateia Eleftherias is located next to the Archaeological Museum and not far away from the local municipality buildings. Coming from the sea, you would approach the Freedom Square through the St. George's Gate that was used from Venetian times as a passage between the city and its port.
