In all our years of reviewing hotels across Europe, this is one of the hippest we’ve ever seen. The reception area on the ground floor of this lovingly restored wooden building that is over a century old also doubles as a bar and café, while rooms are a mix of rustic hardwood floors, oriental carpets, army footlockers for tables and footstools, assorted antiques and some slightly more modern touches like cable TV and private bathrooms. You can also stay in the Elvis suite decorated with pictures of the king and other garish design elements. The Valhalla Wine & Coffee bar and its private courtyard are also at your disposal, but remember to ask for a room with a balcony and to book well in advance.
