Located in the heart of Tartu, Vanemuine Concert Hall has been part of Tartu’s cultural landscape for decades, serving as both a respected concert venue and a modern event space. The current building, designed by architects A. Volberg, P. Tarvas and U. Tölpus, was completed in 1970 to replace the original hall destroyed during the Second World War. A renovation led by architect A. Kuldkepp followed in 1998, with the latest extension added in 2001.
Sharing both its name and building with the neighbouring Vanemuine Theatre, the concert hall hosts a varied programme ranging from orchestral performances to conferences and public events. Modern facilities and good acoustics have helped keep it firmly at the centre of Tartu’s cultural life.
