Aviation enthusiasts of all stripes will want to plot a course to this museum, about 16km from Tartu. The inside of the exhibition house is filled with glass cases containing more than 400 model aircraft, fighters and bombers of every type and manufacture from around the world. It's the outside that most people will be interested in however. Here there are about 25 aircraft on display including helicopters, fighter jets, passenger planes and even a Soviet-era bomber. Visitors can climb ladders to peek into the cockpits. There are trampolines and simulators for the kids too. Museum operates from May 2 to November 1.
Getting there: Take Võru street towards Ülenurme, turn left at the Haaslava/Kurepalu/Roiu signs, after 5 km turn right at the Aviation Museum sign, drive straight for another 6 km and you’re set.
