Estonian History Museum - Great Guild Hall

The Great Guild Hall built 1407 - 1410, was significant as the home of Tallinn's union of wealthy merchants and is a sight worth visiting in its own right as one of the best preserved medieval buildings in Old Town. As part of the renovations, several formal rooms and cellars have now been opened to the public for the first time.
A new exhibition, 'The Splendour of the Hanseatic League: How Wealth Was Made in the Middle Ages centres on the figure of the merchant, whose journey provides insight into the Hanseatic system and the ways in which wealth and culture spread to these regions during the Middle Ages. Open till January 10, 2027.
In the cellar one can have an overview of the Guild Hall´s history, can find a Treasury and historical Weapons Chamber. The permanent exhibition 'The Chamber of Legends' in the cellar has been recently updated, introducing a selection of rare artefacts associated with extraordinary legends on the underground floor of the building. A total of 88 rarities are on display, some of which are being revealed to the public for the first time.
Next to the museum, follow the Börsi Passage where Estonia's history is set in the stone path (when it's not covered in snow), from the pre-history, through the present-day.
