Memorial of Estonian War of Independence

Opened in 1922, the memorial to the Estonian War of Independence in Alevi Cemetery was designed by Amandus Adamson. There are two bronze eagles fighting with snakes on either side, and four cannons act as pillars. The mourners portrayed at the back of the monument are the artist's own wife and children. The monument was destroyed in 1945 and restored in 1993.
