A bronze statue of a lion high on a pedestal, this regal-looking symbol of Sweden was installed in 2000 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Narva, which kicked off the Great Northern War between Sweden and Russia. This spot is also worth visiting for the view - from here you get a panoramic scene of Narva and Ivangorod castles facing each other on either side of the river.
