Manchester is somewhat hit and miss when it comes to walking. The public transport network dominates town, another example of the city’s industry-first mentality, but the age of Manchester means much of it predates the automated vehicle. You can walk around the centre fairly easily, although be sure to look both ways when crossing the road. The city also has plenty of parks and open spaces, not to mention a healthy walking culture and some excellent routes.
