Established in 1939, the Barber Institute of Fine Arts is widely regarded to be one of the best galleries in the UK, and it has the awards to prove it. The building itself is a historical marvel, a piece of Art Deco magic that adds extra weight to the art inside. Many of history’s most famous artists are represented inside, from Van Gogh to Monet via Turner and Bellini. The institute is also home to one of the world’s largest coin collections, if you’re into, you know, coins.
