Bath Abbey

History, architectural beauty, monolithic importance and a certain sense of grandeur — Bath Abbey might just sum up the city as a whole. Built in the 7th century but rebuilt on many occasions since, this is a gorgeous example of Perpendicular Gothic architecture and a church that provides a delightful backdrop to some of the most impressive sights in the city. The interior is a show-stopper with 19th century fan vaulting taking home the crown. The Bath Abbey Heritage Vaults Museum is located in the cellars, an excellent way to immerse yourself in the history of this beaut.
