The official language in Copenhagen is Danish, as is in the whole Kingdom of Denmark. But if you do not speak Danish, fear not, 86% of Danes speak English, especially amongst the younger generations, as it is mandatory for all little Danes to learn it from the first grade in schools. The second foreign language in the amount of people who speak it, is German, as about a half of Danes are fluent in it. Danish is a North Germanic, aka Scandinavian language, a descendant of Old Norse, that used to be spoken in these lands.
