The pub that features at the beginning of the Czech literary classic 'The Good Soldier Švejk' as the planned location of the never-to-be meeting "...at six in the evening after the war." An oompah band keeps the atmosphere rolling.

I had recently read the book The Good Soldier Svejk and have been enamoured by the character and wanted to check this place out. Very nice place but with real tourist prices, but friendly and fun so no complaints from me. Had a huge litre of beer and slivovice in the true spirit of Svejk,they have a small gift shop there and bought a lovely beer glass and polo shirt,I was a happy man. I had been trying to get some prints of Josef Lada’s drawing of Svejk to no avail but the wrapping paper of the shop had some of the drawings on it, the owner/manger gave me a few extra sheets to see if I could use them, very kind of him.

Had one of the best nights out ever here. We are in our late 50's and we took our son and his mate aged 20 and we all had a brilliant time. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere brilliant but god knows what the bill was as we were all fairly well plastered when we left. I would definitely go here again.
