From the 14th century until 1747, this was the final resting place for Prague's Jewish community; some 12,000 graves are said to be piled one on top of the other. Oldest and most famous is that of Rabbi Loew, which is the grave with the most pebbles piled on top of it - a Jewish tradition. To visit the cemetery, men will have to cover their heads; kippas are provided at the entrance.
