Modernism in an historical context is the tag line for this new boutique hotel. Slate bathrooms featuring Philip Starck designed fittings, flat screen TVs and mod cons fill each room although each is a little different from another – some have no wardrobe but a dressing space behind the bed, others have skylights and suites have balconies. Off the fireplace-featured lobby is a full size snooker room and bar and restaurant (no a la carte but catering available). Minimalist but lovely.
