A water channel on the eastern side of the city’s ramparts once brought water to Panský Mill, which then stood at the hotel’s present location. This romantic corner was a popular destination for outings in the 19th century. As some people also rowed boats here, it was given the moniker “Pilsen’s Venice”.

The Mill Race was later filled in and was not renewed until 2010, when an artificial pond was created in the middle of the beautifully manicured park. You can walk or sit in the area around the Mill Race, where children can play on human head-shaped climbing frames.
