Synagogue

Recently restored as a spot of cultural heritage, the synagogue in Český Krumlov was built in 1909 in the Nouveau-Romanesque style by the local Jewish community in town, its most notable attraction being its eight-sided tower with windows shaped like the Torah. The synagogue miraculously survived World War II (it was initially used as a club house for the Hitler Youth before becoming a non-denominational church for American soldiers) and communism before being restored in the 21st century.
